Ok so my cousin, Austin, talked me into doing a blog and it has taken me forever to even post on it cause I wasn't even sure where to start so I figured we would start with a quick overview of the year 2012. It was such an amazing year.
DECEMBER 2011
JANUARY
We spent alot of time indoors staying away from the cold weather! The dogs were finally warming up to Ryleigh and we were just loving our time as parents.
FEBRUARY
On February 5 Ryleigh had her baby blessing by her daddy:) We were so happy that so much family was able to fly up to Oregon to celebrate the exciting day with us! Ryleigh had her 2 month check up and was 11 lbs 11 oz. 23 inches long. Growing like a weed! For her 2 month birthday we took her to get her ears pierced. She was such a champ and she looks really cute! Ryleigh went on her first plane ride as we flew back to Vegas for Drake's farewell. It was such a bittersweet trip. We are so excited and proud of Drake but we miss him alot. (He is doing awesome on his mission and is having such a great experience...we can't wait for him to get home and meet a girl and get married and make some babies so Ryleigh has some cousins haha)
MARCH
We spent alot of time inside trying to stay warm...seems like Oregon winters last forever! We did plan a cruise with my dad and his girlfriend, Lori, for September. We were so excited and we counting down the days. We were going to fly to Florida and cruise to Key West, FL, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica!
APRIL
We had alot of fun in April because it started to warm up outside so we were able to get the baby pool out and also visit the beach. We spent alot of time just playing out in the sun. Page's mom came to visit for Page's birthday which was alot of fun. Ryleigh LOVES the water and being in her pool. She would sleep in her pool if I let her. She had her 4 month check up and is up to 15 lbs 8 oz. 26 inches long. Doctor said she is going to be a very tall girl. We started feeding Ryleigh baby food which is fun but such a mess!
MAY
In May our big highlight was that Logan's parents flew us to Vegas for a nice vacation. It was so nice to go play in the sunshine and actually feel some HEAT! We sure miss the Vegas warmth. We were able to go to the lake and Logan's buddy Ryan was also able to come for a day to see us. It was a great break from Oregon!
JUNE
Ryleigh started to sit up all by herself! She is up to 17 lbs 2 oz and 27 inches long. We went down to Newport, Oregon and stayed at Aunt Deon and Uncle Roger's "Tilton Hilton." It was a fun weekend getaway. When you walk in the cabin it feels like you are totally walking downhill...cause you are! It was built a long time ago and the foundation is not too great so the house is falling a bit. Such a fun place!
JULY
We were able to play outside alot this month. We went hiking, to a fair, swam in Ryleigh's pool, went fishing, and Page's friend, Elina, was able to come visit us and we went to the beach! We also went a 4th of July party at some friends in the wards house.
AUGUST
Logan ran in a half marathon in Forest Grove, OR,. He did awesome and Ryleigh and I had a great time playing in the sunshine waiting for him. Logan was such a happy guy cause the day after the marathon we went to an air show. He was in heaven! Ryleigh started crawling AND teething. Fun times! And we got a NEW CAR! Yayyy! We also went to the state fair(so fun) and Ryleigh enjoyed LOTS of ice cream!!
SEPTEMBER
The highlight of September was the CRUISE! Such a great time!! Can't wait to go on another one sometime..hopefully in the near future! We also went on a fun camping and fishing trip.
OCTOBER
We celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary!! Logan ran in his first full marathon..he is crazy! He finished and said he was never doing another one again...that night he was talking to Uncle Blake about doing one together. Crazy boys!! We went to a pumpkin patch with Logan's parents and had some yummy cookies. Logan celebrated his 23rd birthday and Ryleigh and Page were about to fly to Vegas for Halloween to have some dress fittings for Elina's wedding and to hang out with her cousin Austin and her kids. We hadn't seen eachother in probably 5 or 6 years..her and her husband have been living in Japan so it was so great! We were sad ours husbands weren't able to spend the time with us.
NOVEMBER
The winter weather started coming back so we started spending alot of time back indoors. We went and picked out a Christmas tree with Logan's parents at a tree farm which was tons of fun. Paige and I decorated the tree but could only do the top half because Ryleigh loved pulling all the decorations off.
DECEMBER
We celebrated an early Christmas with Logan's family. Page flew to Vegas and was in her friend Elina's GORGEOUS wedding. Page was also about to go to her friend, Lindsey's, baby shower...sooo excited for her to have her little girl!! Logan then met us in Vegas and we went to Beaver, Utah to Lori's cabin. We went snowboarding and sledding and celebrated Ryleigh's 1ST BIRTHDAY!!! We were able to skype Drake on Christmas day which was so great. We spent a couple days in Vegas before flying back to Oregon. Logan rode Page's dad's motorcycle while we were in Vegas and he was hooked...he is so excited to someday soon get one. We had such a great year and can't wait to see what year 2013 has in store for us!
